Rocky Mountain Hi.

This morning, as Oliver had his morning milks & I had my first coffee, we watched GMA, discussed life, politics, the preceeding golden shower given to Mom & the weather. Overall, a nice little morning with some quality bonding time. Mornings are usually spent with Daddy, as Mom sleeps in a little ;) but... Daddy left for Colorado yesterday! It's sad that he's sooooo far away, but we're thinking about how much fun it'll be after he finds a place & we move out there too! I just have to keep repeating to myself...it's not forever, it's not forever & soon he'll be back for us. Anyway, I've come to realize that our little baby is a morning guy! An obvious personality trait from his Dad...as I cringe at mornings! (And don't judge me...as you all are going to bed by 8:30pM because you were up since 4aM...I'm just coming alive). My point is...Oliver loves the mornings & was just a smiling away...happy loving baby! And as you can see, I tried to capture his smiles, but by the time I grabbed my camera & settled back in, he was over it & didn't have too many more to give up! Either way, it made my day & his Daddy's too as we are swapping photos of our day.

Later on...napping with my sock monkey =)

And I also wanted to add a couple more photos from Christmas.
We finally made it to Sioux Falls after the Christmas storm!

Happy Ollydays.

This Christmas has been a very merry snowy one! Christmas in the midwest brought us plenty of snow. 18 + inches...something to the tune of that! I don't think neither Mike nor myself have ever seen so much snow in Holstein at one time. We spent most of the holiday snowed in the cozy warm house (leading to only some stir craziness)...we were able to venture just before the storm hit to my Aunt Connie & Bob's place for some soup, sandwiches & good ole hang out time with the cousins. We did have part of the family not present...& not because of the storm...but because we were gifted a new baby to the family on Christmas Eve!!! Cousin Emily & James had their little girl! With Em being due on the 26th & the storm on the horizon, they opted to stay up in Sioux City so they wouldn't chance not making it to the hospital on time...& we were all very glad they did that because little baby Stella Louise arrived right in the middle of our gift exchange =) Needless to say...we were all very excited, most of all, to hear the news of our healthy Baby Girl, Mama Em & surviving Daddy James! And speakng of gifts...this Christmas has been such a great one for both Michael & I personally...with having a healthy baby on the list, we were given just that. Oliver had his first Christmas & although it did not make a bit of difference to him what the heck was going on as long as he had some warm milk & a snuggly body to cling to...he was a very happy Christmas baby! Oh & we missed the weigh clinic last Monday to get an updated tally of how many lbs the big man has put on...so, we did a make shift weighing (me standing on the scale with & without Oliver & making the difference his weight). 11 lbs! He's packed on approx 4 lbs 11 oz since his 2nd week. And the only other thing on my list this year was a home...

...well...Michael & I have exciting news...we are moving to the mountains! The mountains in Colorado that is. Michael was offered (& has accepted) a job working out of the Basalt, CO area. We plan on moving very quickly, so it is a bit of whirlwind right now! Mike is planning on leaving this next week (Tuesday-Wednesday-ish) to get out there & find us a place to live. He starts just after the first of the year working & will be back ASAP =) to get Oliver & I moved out there. We are very excited to start the Year 2010 off on such a high note (pun intended...due to the mtns). More details of the move will come once we are able to find a place & get a little more organized! Wishing you the best of times this New Years!

Cheers =)

Have an Olly Jolly Christmas!

Happy Holidays to you all!
Love. Leyna. Michael. Oliver.

PS. This was my best attempt to get some fun Christmas photos of Oliver, but he wasn't quite in the Christmas spirit about the whole thing & wanted to make funny monkey faces instead =) Maybe he'll be feeling it later on...when we're watching 24 hours of a Christmas story in our pjs! And yes...his shirt does say 'Here Comes Trouble' =)

Go Shawtys It's Your Birthdays.

Last weekend Mr. Oliver had a big weekend of partyin. Cousins, Kye & Wyatt, both turned 1 year old. Friday night we hung at Wyatt's house for cake, ice cream & presents. Then, Saturday night was Kye's party with tacos & of course...more cake & ice cream & presents! We had a great time celebrating with the boys. Next year, Oliver will be running right along with them =)
