gus. one.mo

fighter baby sunshine face gussy goo goo...just one of the nicknames i've already dubbed for him... he's definitely not going to let that one fly into his teen years, but i'll use it until then ;) wow...this one gave us a wild first month. the first month goes fast, but when the 27th rolled around i couldn't believe it had been a month ago i was laboring this fellow! it kind of makes me want to throw up because it means i only have 2 weeks left until i have to go back to work...sorry work people who may be reading this, but it does =) we spent about half of this first month in the hospital but we're doing so good now. and he is a mama's boy - not gonna like that i'm sure when he reads this in his future years, but he is...he's a big mama's boy =) which i love! he's settled back into our home & the main thing we're working on is his sleep pattern. he received a lot of tlc {as he should have} during his hospital stay, so he's a little perturbed every time i set him down. and it seems that every day i decide to go down for a nap with the boys...he doesn't want to give me one of those awesome solid 3 hour naps he sometimes chooses to have. sleep is never anything that we'll catch up on i'm convinced, so i'm willing to give up my naps if i have to...but only b/c his head is the size of the muffin i had for breakfast =) gus is growing fast & we're proud to say that during his vacation at sanford & cherokee regional hospitals, he maintained & even gained weight. he loves his milkies! he weighs 8 1/2 lbs & isn't looking back. and the kid smiles more than i've ever seen a baby smile before. i haven't been able to capture one yet...but i'm working on it! this friday we will go in for his one month doctor's appointment & i will post updated stats from that visit. in the meantime, we try & snuggle every chance we get...the house is a disaster 90% of the time...but the snuggles come first =)
